Former Doctor Who and House of the Dragon star Matt Smith is finally making his long-awaited debut in the Star Wars universe, joining Shawn Levy’s upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter.

Smith’s casting marks one of several antagonist roles in the highly anticipated film, which is set to release on May 28, 2027. Sources indicate that director Shawn Levy is still searching for a female antagonist, with actress Mikey Madison previously considered for the role. Hollywood star Ryan Gosling leads the cast as the film’s protagonist.
